Such a fun way to learn about Jesus!

Back Porch Theology is the one podcast I make sure to listen to every week when a new episode drops. It honestly feels like Lisa and Ally take our hands and welcome us to the back porch where the discussions are authentic, challenging, fascinating, and FUN! I'm learning so much about Jesus, the Word of God, and what it means for life today. Lisa has always made me laugh out loud, and even though there is real depth and higher-level thinking in this content, her humor and contagious laughter make it so much fun!!

When Giants Fall

I love y'all so much. Every episode has been encouraging and spirit filled. Having said that I have to disagree a little with the latest episode. Every pastor who has a sexual discretion is not necessarily bad hearted or full of desire to control the church or individuals within the church. Sometimes it's just two broken people who find each other and make a mistake. We tend to forget how much pressure pastors are under and how little support they often have from their elders.Additionally it would have been nice to have had some encouragement for the families of the pastors who have made these kind of mistakes. Years ago, my husband was pastoring a fairly large church in a fairly small city. He had an affair with a woman who was not a member of our church and didn't even live in the same city. Our leadership handled it terribly. If they had handled his sin with the love and grace that they handled every other church members indiscretions, we could have healed so much more quickly and helped others as they tried to heal their broken marriages. Instead, it led to 10 years of bitter pain and distrust of church leadership. We were not expecting to be able to keep on pastoring, but we were not loved well through the process. We were forced to leave the church without being able to apologize to them, and the church body was told not to contact us under any circumstances. We had our whole support system yanked out from under us.However, we never left the Lord and continued to trust him, even though we found the church so untrustworthy. Now through lots of counseling for both of us, my husband has a thriving men's ministry where he helps men through the same problems he encountered so many years ago.We truly love the church and know that it is God's plan for us, but it would be great if church leadership could have some sort of training on how to handle these kinds of situations.Sincerely,Allison Small
